i am replacing my intake mannifold for a race mannifold
so i am not gonna need the intake support the one with the vacuum lines brazed on it
but there is another litle item on the support wich is connected with two wires
(i think a black and a white one) looks like some kind of sensor
can i just disconnect the plug and leave it like that
i tried to find it on caps but no luck
does any one know what this is and do i really need it
thanks.

I took mine off yesterday. My mechanic eliminated the unneeded vacuum lines, and rerouted the ones needed. Mine must have lost a bolt, because it was rattling. And I replaced the knock sensor, and it was kinda in the way.

That plug is the knock sensor. I don't think you want to leave it unplugged. It will pull off,but I couldn't get mine off so I bent it back and forth until the metal bar it was on broke.

Read post #4 my friend,it's to the knock sensor:) You don't want to eliminate that. Read up on it here in the forums,it detects pre-detonation in the block and adjusts timing accordingly. It's kinda like a microphone in your block.

I don't think it would matter where you ground it. Correct if I'm wrong...I can install a system no problem but when it comes to the why's and what not's I have no answers, other than getting shocked sucks:p
