Issues With fittment 26x9.5 r15 slicks

I'm currently having issues fitting my hoosiers on my 1g .
SETUP...... Hoosier QTP 26x9.5R15
DR-17 wheels 15x7 +40 offset

The problem is in the back where the Rear control arm is rubbing on the tire
The fronts are ok no issues its only in the back

I have a few ideas like using a spacer or grinding the control arm

But if you guys have any ideas let me know

Finally figured it out and would like to share it

I had to grind the rear trailing arms to clear the tire . The tire would "muffin top "

Only a small section I need to grind ill post pics later
My set up fits now no spacers no tire rub

15 wheel
40 offset
Hoosier 26x9.5

Ya Richard33 had the same issue in the front and grinded the control arm alittle to make it work. I didn't have the issue with mine and I believe it because of the ride height difference we have. Your car doesn't seem to low in the back so it must be the offset you have making it sit closer. Anyway glad you figures it out and hope it doesn't cause any further issues. I will probably need to grind mine once I lower the car alittle more, if I decide to. I had mine set so I could easily switch from street tires to slicks without having to change anything major, like the ride height. Car looks good bro! Nice and clean! Look forward to seeing some passes from you soon!

Ya that's pretty low!! Probably why its rubbing for sure! I couldn't put my car that low because I DD it and the roads here suck monkey balls!! Lol


Really? its only 1.5" drop with the JIC coilovers
 
Just in case you didn't already, it would be wise to go over the area that you ground down with a wide/stitch weld. I did the same thing you did to my rear arms, and you can see the air gap in between the upper and lower portions of the control arm if you do not. The weld will still clear the wheel if you get good penetration, and you bring back the regidity of the arm. Looks good though!

When I install the rear toe eliminator I will address that that's not a bad idea to stitch weld it thanks for the tip
