Is this turbo worth installing?

I just bought a Garrett t3/t4 at a very good price, but I don't know if it will be worth even bothering to install it on my 98 eclipse gst. I'm looking for 12 second 1/4 mile times with the mods listed in my vehicle profile, just upgrading my injectors to Evo VIII 560cc injectors and either slicks or drag radials.

The turbo specs are:

Garrett 54mm compressor wheel w/ .60 a/r cover
Stage 1 turbine wheel w/ .63 a/r housing
rated at 300-475 hp

560cc/min injectors are not going to be big enough for that turbo. I calculated with 660cc at 37psi fuel pressure with 80% D/C, with turbo maxing at 22psi, you will be making ~403 hp. With 720cc, you will be making about ~440hp at 25psi. All this tuning is with an 11:1 AFR also. I used the spreadsheet tuning table, i downloaded it somewheres in this forum. If you need the link i can send it to you if you need it.

With 560's at 43psi on 100 octane at 100% D/C you will be pushing ~15psi. If you are using an SAFC to tune with, set your corrected airflow to -25.5%, and if your MAF is hacked then that would be ~ -20%. Hope this helps, and good luck.

43 psi of fuel pressure, not boost.
Read the full sentance:
how much boost do you think i can run on this with the 560's and base fuel pressure set to 43psi on 100 octane?
I replied with

He asked how much boost he could run on 43psi of fuel pressure on 100 Octane fuel. Obviously he would know that he 43psi would indicate fuel pressure, and not boost.

Don't forget a Custom Manifold and o2 housing will also be needed. :thumb:

I have a tubular manifold with an external wastegate and an o2 sensor housing for a 4 bolt housing, the only problem is that this turbo has a 5 bolt housing, Do you think I can just drill and tap a hole where the 4th hole would go and weld the hole shut for the internal wastegate?

Do you guys think this turbo is capable of doing 12's on a fwd with mild tuning? Or do you think i should sell it and buy a bigger turbo such as a 60 trim or 60-1?

With the appropiate mods, i highly think this turbo will yield high to mid 12's on your GST. Bigger injectors, a nice tune on 20+psi, maybe some water/meth injection, and some DR's or slicks would be a fun ride down the 1320. Hell, it even would be a sweet street car if you could run 20psi on pump fuel :sneaky:
All in all, i think you are heading in the right direction. This is not a monster turbo, but will yeild high results if used properly. Get yourself a manifold, wastegate and downpipe setup, slap it on, and see what it will do.:rocks:

This car is my daily driver. I will probably be running 100 octane all the time if I do install this turbo.

Water/Meth injection is going to be my next mod, that way i can keep knock to a minimum.
