is this guy on crack or am I the one on drugs? LOL

Ive been searching for about 4 months now for a "project"... specifically looking for a white gsx... this one seems to be recipe for what im looking for but is this guy seriously asking 7 grand... i see fully built ones go for that

Guess he paid way too much for it and is trying to get his money back. Maybe if he goes down to about $3000, he might have a shot

Ehhh... let's see.

1) When you start to drive it for awhile, when going into 3rd gear it will grind.

2) At high speeds around 70 the car will sometimes shift side to side, iv been told it might be a axle

3) He just invested in new suspension components 4 weeks ago, and now he's trying to unload the car.

Yep...crack seems reasonable. :)

MAYBE $2500 if I was in a good mood and feeling generous. Those issues and 200k miles is a tough sell. Given the ad wording, you can almost bet that the t-belt and other stuff needs to be done also.

If he fixed the 3rd gear problem (could be something as simple as a shifter adjustment, but doubtful) and whatever is up with the suspension, he'd have a lot more luck getting at least 3500 or maybe 4K out of it, if the right buyer comes along. Of course he may get $7k out of it...apparently the previous owner was able to dump it. :D

True...but I wouldn't be leaving that LOL-one-piece bearing motor in there. My 98 block from my GST would go in.

Everyone thinks their crap is worth too much. I found a clean shell somewhere near me, no engine or transmission. I offered $1,000.00 for it without the wheels. He said the lowest he would go is $1,500.00 without the wheels. I said if it is as clean as he said it is, I will buy, have cash-in-hand. Then he had 3 other interested parties overnight. Even though he had none for months.

Everyone thinks their shit is made of gold. The worst is used parts on the classified. Used parts going for near new prices. Yea like i wouldn't just spend the extra $10 and get a brand new part with possible warranty and customer service.

Theres a guy near me with a very base model 1g with 170k on it. He wont budge off 2700. He laughed when i offered him 1k which was pretty reasonable. Not kidding either he says "dude, its an eclipse". WTF

ROFL if your speaking of a 1.8...i used to pick those up as beaters for like 100 bucks a pop in clean condition XD

I would look that guy square in the eye and tell him here's a thousand bucks

Wobbling side - side... Could be rear spindle knuckle..

"98%" rust free! Ha Ha how does he come up with that percentage...

Either way.. thats a douche bag price!

You have to calculate the total amount of iron-based alloys in the car, compare current weight to factory weight, consider the material loss due to oxidation, etc.

It's all very complicated; you just need to trust him. :D

:p

Thats what I figured.. OMG!!

@ 200,000 body miles his car sways side to side because he probably doent have the Rear upper Bushings anymore which are either gone or completely coroded. There somewhat hard to find but I know 2 vendors that sell em'.
