Is that compressor surge( Video)

Recently , Ive just installed an HKS SSQV on my 94 and im wondering if the sound im having is compressor surge or just flutter? My back screw is almost all close behind the bov. The BOV is vented since im running a GM maf/Maft combo.

Here's a clip (not my car) but my car does the same sound as his car. Also does it if im brake torqueing of the line and let of the gas.

So is it compressor surge?

My lil brother bought a used Blitz Supersound bov and used it with his SR20DET motor. The car had that EXACT same sound as heard on the video and we "thought" it sounded sweet.... Yeah a friend that was a lil' wiser heard that and about shat himself. We took off the bov and it was siezed shut... Compressor surge.

did ur car make this fluttering sound before u put the HKS bov on? And also does ur car make this fluttering sound all the time under any amount of boost?

Wow im glad I just accidently browsed into this thread.. I installed my greddy type-s today and it was doing nothing but that exact flutter noise.. So that is compressor surge? Someone has the screw on the BOV adjusted all the way to the end almost in mine heres a picture http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/fusiondsm3/detail?.dir=cb2e&.dnm=497f.jpg

So to adjust this I need to loosen that top nut and use an alan wrench to bring the screw out I assume?

After backing the screw half way it now sound like all HKS with no sign on compressor surge. Man this BOV sounds good, hight pitched whistle sound...wooohoooo. Was funny letting of the gas close to pedestrian the look on their face was priceless

ya that is fun letting it relieve right infront of someone. Half of the older people dont know what it is and just stare. !

The only time a HKS SSQV equipped car will sound like that is if the vaccum line to the back of it was disconnected/Major Leak or a internal part of the hks ssqv bov failed and seized.

Or if you try to run 35-40PSI +

The TiAL is the Best BOV you can buy, HKS ssqv is a CLOSE second, I really wouldn't mess with anything else.

That sound can also be a external wastegate the hks ones sound like that.

I have the vacumn line disconnected at all times and my BOV sounds is sputtering. What are the long term causes?

If you say major leaks, will my car runs super rich in this case?

The "long " term consequences are actually short, but that will kill your turbo quickly

just thought i would post this... i just put an hks ssqv on my car yesterday and it sounds real nice.... and nothing like that video. if you have the sound of the car in the video then you are surging hardcore... just wanna put some closure in here.
