Is my turbo shot?

Hey everyone i picked up a gst and i noticed white smoke coming out of my exhaust, when i checked the turbo it was moist with oil?

That's definitely more than a sealing ring leaking with shaft play in all directions as noted by the O.P.

Ok guys so im about done installing i just have one question .. Does its matter if i have the water hoses
Reversed? The only way i can make it work is of i have them like that or the hoses wont reach?

Get longer hose and bend the hard lines better. You want to keep the flow going right with the Return and inlet. Did you maybe put those lines on the wrong side?

When its boosting alot. If i cruise it no smoke comes out

its the turbo i bet it has in out play[DOUBLEPOST=1416333554][/DOUBLEPOST]I hate to sound like a jerk but judging by the bolt for that manifold and looking at the weld at the flange looks to be an ebay header and im wondering if that turbo is genuine or not

Turbo is brand new so i dont think its causing the oil leak

I would inspect your line for cracks, damaged thread, imperfections, dirt, ect. If you think you've done it all right, to me this would be the next thing I would start to think about.

Something's wrong with the threads on the inlet or that adapter you're using. Replace the oil line with a complete 4AN line from the filter housing.

jusMX141 would be your best bet for a turbo rebuild !!! If it can be rebuilt.

Only if you have supporting mods for a 20g! If not it's pointless bro! I would just find a good 14b, rebuild and call it a day!

Hes right, I just came into a 2g gst and the guy before me put a 20g turbo and bigger injectors, air filter and ported intake. And it runs like crap. Needs dsmLink or evo 8 ecu swap to run correctly... I think im very new to boosted cars and dsm.

White smoke is caused from leaking oil into the exhaust.

As the oil leaks it burns white at low temperatures when it starts to heat up and turns bluish when it gets hotter. That's the reason u don't see smoke on startup.
My t25 did this .

People don't realize oil burns white before it turns blue
