I got FMIC with IC piping, FPR and 255lb bump kit from Import Evolution, SBR manual boost controller, boost and A/F ratio guages, stock turbo, all gasket and belts replaced, Greddy BOV, stock injectors, rebuilt tranny with SBR 3500 clutch, Dejontool 3' intake pipe with filter, 3" turboback exhaust, and stock 97 ECU......now with those mods/items it is safe to turn my boost to 16 psi. I think its safe from what i've been reading from other threads but my friend who used to own a 96 gsx (he sold the car) said that i should even touch the boost til i upgrade my turbo. Even a 1 or 2 psi change can kill my motor. Is he right? I wanna at least turn it up to 16 with mods.

No - he's not right. Yeah, you'll be fine, but without an S-AFC you'll probably be running rich.

I would invest in a proper spell checker, otherwise youll have half the board running around trying to find out what a "255lb bump kit is"

Is your greddy bov recirculated?

With stock injectors you dont need the Afc yet. aslong as you dial in the Fuel Pressure correctly you should be fine.

16 - 17 psi sounds fine to me.
espicially on that t25
sell the AF guage to a honda boy, you coulnd have a more useless guage in there.

Id expect some creep tho, so keep your eye on it.

yea my greddy BOV is recirculated...sorry abt the spellin im at work....kinda bored but you cant really used internet that long. And i do have AFPR for my bump ### it came as a package..a kit as they called it.....

im gonna have my other friend who knows alot aboutt dsms look at my car and work with the fuel and boost and see what works for me.

I would log to make sure you are not knocking. I turned my boost up to 13psi and had about 24 counts of knock in everygear. I was so surprised. I think due to the evo3 that pushes more air. I would not go over 11psi without a logger.

Good bit of advice.

The way I see things, every car is different and that's why a logger is so important. Generally speaking, 16 psi with those mods, you should be fine. But don't take our word for it, log your car to see what's happening. It's so satisfying to actually know when your car is running strong and healthy.

Thats why im having my friend check my car first to see if anything is wrong with me car. He is gonna check everything before i start driving the car everyday. i would get DSMlink but i dont see why i need it now with the stock turbo.
