I have a quick question. my AFC recently got reset, and my car is running like crap! i have a 20g and upgraded injectors. I'm guessing I'm ruining like crap because my ecu cant compensate for all the extra fuel, so my quick "Q" is if i throw my stock injectors back in will i cause damage to any of the engine parts, and basically is it SAFE??( running lean or something of that nature) please help this is my only driver , and i need to get it running again, thanks.

It isn't THAT safe, but it could be worse. Just have it re tuned with the AFC and you'll be fine.

If you put your stock injectors back in it wouldn't be safe unless you had a way to turn the boost down because the 20g is usually related to more boost than stock. So if you have more boost you need bigger injectors.

So no it isn't safe to just swap the injectors. I recommend just getting the car re-tuned if you have the funds.

Let me guess, you have no logger and the car was dyno tuned by a shop. :) You can either intall the 450s and turn your boost all the way down, have the car re-tune by a shop or invest in a logger and tune it yourself. In any case, a logger is required any time you start to mess with injector size even if it was tuned by a shop because things always change, a monitoring device is a must.

you don't stomp on the gas and watch your gauge. You can get a boost controller off Ebay for less than $10 that works great. You have a 20g, AFC, injectors, and NO boost controller? What path of upgrading were you following?

how do i turn the boost down? without a boost contrller.
You have all this in your profile and you don't have a mbc?

greddy 20g turbo, greddy bov, greddy intercooler, injen intake, venom fuel rail, aem fuel pressur regulator, apexi s-afc piggy back fuel computer, hks turbo timer
Either you just bought the car like that or you've been getting bad advice. Do you have a boost gauge? If so, how much psi were you running before you lost the afc setting?

Do not drive it at 16psi on that turbo with 450s. Ebay - $10 bucks and 3-4 days you can have a boost controller and turn it down or take it and get it retuned. You can probably get away with driving it like that temporarily but who knows where your numbers are and you have no way to monitor them. Don't ask for trouble for to long as it'll surely answer before you know it. Baby the DSM.

Do you have a real boost gauge? You shouldn't be running 16psi without a mbc unless the bcs is still connected, is it? Try and answer all questions to the best of your knowledge. If you don't understand the question, ask specific questions about them instead of skipping over them like you have been doing.

So he doesn't have a boost controller?

With that aside, I thought BC's could only raise the boost level? Except if you had one, and had already raised it, then you could lower it, but I thought otherwise it was impossible..Without an adjustable actuator arm?

Factory bcs does in fact raise the boost level, reason I asked if it is hooked up for sure which would explain why he's boosting 16psi, bypassing the bcs will allow him to run at the actuator spring pressure of no more than 12psi, in most cases.

what size injectors are you running?

Your car is probably running far to rich -- so all you need to do is compensate by removing fuel across all of your rpm sliders on your safc from what i understand the afc has a low trigger and a high trigger, I assume they are for normal driving and WOT so you will want to use the low trigger. I've never used or even played with an safc but it should be close to the same concept tuning wise as my DSMLink is. Here is a quick detail on how much to remove per injector size.

550's = -18%
denso 660's = -31%
pte 780's = -40%

These are pulled from the DSMLink tuning guide, you may want to use this guide to help you:

edit: Get a logger too.
