Is it nessecery to check for a boost leak it you hit full boost on your gauge? Cause on my boost gauge it eventually hits full boost?

If it seems that it is laggy and does not have the quick response that it use to. Then yes. Well scratch that, no matter what do one. Any leaks can cause problems and over work your turbo. This can eventually lead to problems with the turbo.

Is this regarding to an aftermarket boost gauge or your stock one? If its the stock one, it isn't reading very accurately. Besides, it wouldn't hurt to check for leaks before they happen.

If you're hitting full boost and you have boost leaks, that means the wastegate is making your turbo work harder to maintain that psi. It also means you are running richer than needed as the MAS thinks your engine is seeing all this air, but it's really not.

Boost leaks are an absolute nightmare for turbo cars with a MAS. Gas mileage, idle, performance, and overall driveability are affected noticably when they are present. Fixing a pinhole leak makes more difference than one would think. Checking for boost leaks should be done with changing your oil, it is equally important IMO.
