Is it necessary to get an alignment after a clutch install??

I heard from a local mechanic that you should get a alignmewnt after a clutch install. I've never heard of this before....

Any time a bolt or nut on a suspension is touched, the magic leaks out and has to be put back in on an alignment rack.

Of course, same applies to running over a Botts dot, so there you are.

Your tires and steering wheel will tell you if you needed an alignment. For after clutch work, "close enough" usually is.

On a 2G I got away with just undoing the upper bolt that holds the arm to the strut. That should be a minimal disruption to the alignment specs.

On my Talon I had to actually disconnect the spindle from the strut completly so my alignment is all over the place.

You tires will tell you if you need it or not.
