I have a big 16g and the boost is 15psi 1st gear pulls hard and fast but 2nd-5th at around 4500 to 5000 rpms. I get some kind of cut. It slings you forward and makes a very loud noise under the hood. I have boost leak tested it and there are no boost leaks. Is this fuel cut or something else. I have a stock ecu and stock injectors. I have recently bought a set of RC 550's from a member on this site.
Please Help Me!!!!!!

ive never had it happen to me before but from what ive read on here it sounds like fuel cut a way one guy described it, it feels like you hit a wall when you experience fuel cut

that is about what it feels like....the car doesn't shut off and afterwards you can pick right back up.

i have done some research and determined it is fuel cut. Now the question is how do I fix it? Any suggestions?

i can't turn down the boost any more with the wastegate actuator to where the flapper is fully closed and the hose from the J pipe running back to the waste gate actuator.

Best fix, ECMlink and some seat time getting the tune in with no knock.

Band aid would be something along the lines of Ostrich or AFC, but in the long run, you're better off doing it right the first time, and just save up for the ECMlink.

You will need it in the long run because you're going to want to do more eventually, might as well not have to upgrade again later.

There are dozens of write ups about ECMlink on the boards you can find just about anything you need to know, even with your logs, and if you need help, Thomas at ECMlink is the master so he can always get you squared away.

What?!!! Wastegate pressure should only be around 10-12 psi.. Does your boost creep up? Say full boost at 4k then creeps upwards until redline? This could be causing your fuel cut.

If not, you might have to try a different wastegate actuator.

it may be boost creep causing my fuel cut, how are some ways to fix the boost creep?

Depends on what kind of exhaust you have.. If you upgraded your exhaust and are experiencing this then you will have to port out your o2 housing and turbine housing. There are a ton of threads on fixing boost creep.

yes i have a full 3" turbo back exhaust, but i have no idea if the o2 housing is stock or already ported i will have to take it off to check.

Your issue is that your running too much boost on stock injectors. 450's get maxed out very quickly with a 16g so like mentioned before turn the boost back down. Do you have an aftermarket boost gauge, or are you going off the stocker?
The only way to eliminate creep completely is to port the wastegate channel and flapper. Other than that, I'd just stay out of boost until you get the 550's and some way to tune the car. A wideband would be the top of my list though, you would have noticed right away that your running lean when the break up in acceleration happens.

i have and aftermarket boost gauge, and i'm looking to get an external waste gate.

i am also looking at an AEM wideband.

I'd save the cash and get Link and a wideband. Going externally gated is a bit of work on a 16g and with the money spent, you could just tune for the creep rather than eliminating it.

i'm definitely getting link and wide-band along with the walbro 255 and then turning the boost up to like 18-20 psi. But that will be in about a year.

i'm planning on putting a bigger turbo on it later like a 20g so i'm not going to waste time with the safc and just go ahead and get the eprom and ecm link along with 750 injectors. I just watched a how to on porting the waste gate whole. So I will be trying that later this week good thing is i have an extra exhaust housing so if i mess one up i can take the extra one to a shop and have them port it. Thanks for all the help guys.
