Is it really fuel cut?

I've have been hitting fuel cut since I've had the car. And I think it has something to do with spinning 2 rod bearings. That's why I'm on my 3rd motor. But my question is "is it fuel cut"? Around 4k rpm I will be pulling hard then it will sound like a backfire and I'll be thrown forward almost like I hit something. Can anyone help?

Yep, that sure sounds like fuel cut. I would do a boost leak test first and foremost and go from there.

Also I have a 255 walbro fuel pump on and I have done boost leak tests plenty of times. I had a nice size leak at my throttle body and that is fixed and my system hold 20psi easy. So I have no boost leaks and I'm only running 12psi on a 14b. What could be the problem?

Exactly... And it's getting old . Especially when I'm winning and then the steering wheel biting begins. So does anyone know how I could fix this? The only thing I can think of is the fuel filter hasn't been changed, probably since the car came off the assembly line in 1998. Could a bad fuel filter cause this?

Injectors are stock 450's about a year old. I have 660's and a maf translator waiting to go in but no wideband to help tune. I have brand new bpr7es spark plugs properly gaped. Im not sure about the wires but they looked fine and checked out when I built the new motor.

You just have to wait for that wideband to help you tune. Nothing else you can do.

my gf's gsx can hit fuel cut with her 16g on 11 psi.

Fuel cut sucks biggins. Especially the pulling of your teeth out of the steering wheel. Or in my case when i had the problem hitting it and my GF almost bouncing her head off the dash I heard about that one for weeks.

Lol yea, everytime I hit it my gf looks at me like I don't know how to drive . I guess the wideband and a tune is the only way for me to get rid of it?
