Is evo mr a DSM?

negative, diamond star motors didnt make the evo. Sure its like a dsm but its also very different from us. Also mitsubishi made the evolution, not Diamond Star Motors. DSM means the combined forces of chrysler Eagle and mitsubishi. There is no eagle evolution or plymouth evolution so its not a dsm. Just like later model eclipses arent considered dsms because it was just mitsubishi. DSMs ended when talons werent produced anymore, after that it was just mitsu.

Just because the engine is a 4G63, it does not mean that whatever car that engine sits in is a DSM. DSM's (for the scope of this and future arguments) are Talons, Eclipses (1g & 2G only), and Lasers.

With the utmost care not to get into a silly argument, the following cars are not DSM's because they were never assembled in the Diamond Star Motors plant in Normal, Illinois:

Galant VR-4
Evo I-VII
Colt/Summit/Mirage

Yes, the engines and transmissions are interchangeable to a degree, but that's about it. I'm sure somebody will ask, "Well what about the 3G, those are made in Illinois, too!" True, but as somebody once told me, 3G's are about as accepted as a DSM as the Del Sol is accepted as a CRX in the Honda community.

For the sake of this argument, DSM's are first and second generation Talons, Eclipses, and Lasers, and nothing more.
