I have an older 9 inch billet torque converter and I understand they no longer sell my version any more due to lock up failures. I just wanted to get a good understanding of what makes them fail. Were the failures due to people trying to force the lock up under a load or was it simply under engineered to handle big hp. My car is flowing about 65lbs/min for reference...
I have a manual TC lock up switch and I am trying to figure out if I can still drop a gear and get into the throttle while the TC was locked or if it will destroy the lock up function. It would also be nice to lock it up while dynoing the car to see what it puts down.
Transdude, it would be nice if you could offer some input on this.
