I just wanted to say Hi to the people in my area, I just moved down into Austin a couple months ago from Minnesota and I picked up a family member's stock 95 Talon Tsi AWD while moving down. I used to have a 92 Dodge Stealth R/T that I sold before I moved. Anyway, I am looking forward to the new community. If anyone in the Austin area would like to meet up sometime send me a PM. I would love to meet some new people. I love the car so far, although I kind of miss my Stealth sometimes. I am sure that will change once I start doing some work to my car though, I never had a turbo to play with before.

Grats on the car, your life will never be the same now.. LOL:thumb:
I'd start by reading up and getting a good boost controller and 1g blow off valve. Then intake and exhaust. Oh right, before all that you need to do a full maintenance check up :ohdamn:

Welcome to the community!

Welcome to the Lone Star State. Nice pickup on the vehicle. The 2G AWD cars have great potential and enjoy a large after market support. DSM involvement is not what it used to be, but we are some of the most devoted fans around. My vehicle has been a favorite project of mine since I first bought it. BTW I'm in SA which is only a 45min drive, and I'll see you around if you stay in the DSM community long enough.

Well I have been enjoying Austin so far, along with my Talon. It definitely grows on you quickly.

I noticed that there is a relatively large gathering of tuners at the Gateway Shopping Center at the intersection of 183 and Cap of Tx Hwy.

I see them every Saturday night when I get out of work in that shopping center. Does anyone show up to that often? I walked around once and I usually see a couple of DSMs. However people give me strange looks when I am there in my work uniform. :tease:

They keep doing burnouts then that spot will not last. Every monday when I get back to work there are new burnout marks all over that parking lot.

So sad that crap still happens, that is a good spot too.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. Pretty lame. Any other similar gatherings in Austin? (minus the burnouts hopefully)

it thos dum punk kids from the south side thinking the front wheel drive car is a drift car LOL
dont take it personal if you live in the south side but you know what Im talking about .. when you see it

Funny thing is most of the marks are from rwd cars. There are circles, WIDE dual marks (that swerve), and a hand full that cars could only muster while turning left. I agree it is mostly punk kids, though the: old timers, regulars, and fast cars are known to show off too.

But what do I know. Well, that Simon properties doesn't like there parking lot messed up when they are trying to lease space. :nono:

the "Punk kids" would have to have lsd to even lay down a fwd burnout worth a crap anyway.

I want to meet up with some other dsm'rs when i go to austin next time. I go there a lot and NEVER see any fast cars, it's so boring compared to dallas.... well on the south side of austin anyway. I know there are people w/ cars around but I just never see them.

You need to come on a Wednesday or Saturday night...and come north. I got word yesterday that there are some nice cars that meet in Buda, but haven't confirmed it. Though, the scene in the Dallas area is still better.
