Internal wastegate turbos

do all internal wastegate turbos have/get boost spikes/creeps? i was looking at some bolt on internal 50 & 50+ trims turbos because the prices are very appealing but i don't want to have creep problems. a local shop i go to hates tuning internal wastegate turbos, says there's always a spike somewhere. anyone recommend a vendor i should deal with for this turbo setup? any input to eliminate boost spikes? actually any input would help.

Alot of internal gates spike. If easiest thing to do is just get the 50 trim without an internal gate. But than you are going to spend another 200-300 on an external gate. Or just get the internal gated one, and see if it spikes. If you narrow the spike problem down to the internal gate. Its not hard to pull it off the turbo, and get an external setup.

I had absolutely NO boost creep at all with mine. I recently installed the Greddy E-01 boost controller and everything still works perfectly. Look in my profile for turbo, mods, etc.

My B16G hold 20lbs steady all the way through w/my Joe P.
No porting or anything, stock o2 housing, full N1 dp/catback (no cat)

I've had a B16G and now an 18G, and experienced no creep problems with either one. I even tried each one with stock wastegate pressure (11 or so on the 16G, 15 on the 18G) and still had no creep. Boost creep is more of a problem when you're trying to run lower boost pressures. If you want to run 20PSI all the time, for instance, you're not as likely to have boost creep anyway.
