oh my, that carpet is to die for ROFL

Seriously, is that cut 801- Black ? and this mass backing is that the "foam" under the original carpet ? or what does it look like?

i plan to fill the car with "peel n seal" to reduce noise, i have a noisy engine, and road noise. would you still recommend mass backing or not needed ??

I put "Stinger Roadkill" down first. I like it better than brand name "Dynomat". It's a Little bit thicker than dynomat brand and also a little cheaper in price.

The black foam I think you are referring to is "Stinger Roadkill Carpet Pad". It's really dense, thick foam for extra sound deadening. [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Stinger-RKCP12-RoadKill-Discontinued-Manufacturer/dp/B001TH8OC4[/ame]

The carpet backside has the "backing" Again, here I went thicker to have as much protection from roadnoise as possible. I probably went overboard, but road noise is one of my biggest pet-peaves in this world!:banghead:

Oh, Sorry!

I believe this is "1001" black. I ordered the "Ultra plush pile", which is thicker and nicer than the standard "801" black. If you contact them, they will send you some samples of each style and color you want.

Yes, I'd recommend the thicker backing. It looks kinda like a thicker "tar" on the back of the carpet. It makes it tougher to cut, just take your time and have plenty of extra blades for the knife.

The silver stuff IS the stinger roadkill product. (dynomat) 1st layer.
Roadkill carpet pad (black foam) 2nd layer
Black carpet 3rd and final layer

Wow nice!! I definitely would like to do the sound deadening. My roof lining is sagging as well Definitely gonna check some threads for a fix on that

Does anyone know where I could get suede material for my headliner and how much it cost? Shop wanted to charge me $250 to redo my headliner, sun visors and sun roof cover, I think thats kind of overpriced LOL

Hoby lobby in texas, is a start or any fabric store, and you tube how to redo headliner, plenty of vids.

Pressure washed the carpet and scrubbed her good!:D
she cleans up wellLOL

looking at the carpet today, i'm quite certain this carpet is an aftermarket piece like 98pap, the holes that are cut out are not perfect, like let's say the original that came out of my car. I still cant get over how cheap and awesome this find was.:D

So i picked up 2 rolls of "sticky foam/alum duct insulation " 12"x1/8"x15' = 18.77 a roll.
And a 6'x8' rug/carpet pad = 24.95

in the pics i used only one roll, im saving the rest for when i do the trunk.

Also, i want to add, that whoever originally cut this carpet did a fine job!!! All the hard work was already done
Side note, i didn't do it alone, i had a great helper made things go smoother! - thanks- Y.R
