DAMN that looks sweet and definitley different...But damn 128 bucks id rather just use the pillar pod.. but that does look sweet.

i'd think no painting necessary if the dash were black.... but yeah, maybe so otherwise. It does look pretty badass. I dunno about the $128 but someone had to mold a dash adn do the measurements and what not, so maybe R&D is factored in there somewhere.

yeah its a new design, but im sure if more people got them, prices would go down.

me, id get it when i need a egt guage and a oil pressure. i was gonna get the guage bezel pods but i like that cause its above the wheel and in youre field of vision like pillar mounts.

When the AutoMeter dash pods came out, they were $85, now they're available in fine rip-off....er, mimicking form for $15. Give it a few months.

And, you'd be following Mickey Mouse down the road all the time....

LOL i noticed that too.

it looks like a manta ray, just needs a long tail and stinger.

Probably because majority of ppl run 52mm gauges 60mm is just not popular also that most 60mm gauges are made by the expensive brands apexi/blitz..i bet 85% of ppl on this site have autometer 52mm gauges.

ive heard people just cut more of the hole out to fit the 60mm gauges.

i'm digging it BUT why the hell doesn't anyone make 60mm pods anymore, besides pillar pods you can't get 60mm pods anywhere.

I have seen some Auto Meter Tripple Pillar Pods in 60mm (2 5/8). I have a 60mm Gauge Cup that will be mounted and installed today. Made by Auto Meter. Instead of the plastic pods. I am going to use the metal cups. Looks great and you can do some creative things with them. I'll post pictures of where I mounted it soon.

That's really neat. Hey if you wanted to and knew anything about fiberglass, you could buy one and use it as a mold, and sell them yourself... just an idea, and it would infact pay for itself eventually if you sold enough. Good find though, really different. :thumb:

I'd much rather see something that goes over the center console (above the vents) than over the dash gauges.

^^^^^ I am well aware that there are some 60mm gauge pods around I have a 60mm tripple pilar pod, however I think they need to design some more of the moutning places with 60mm in mind. Pods such as teh bezel pod won't work even if you do cut out more of the plastic to fit the 60mm gauge in.

Why wouldnt it work if u shaved it some more for the bezels? Would it make the gauges too close together or something? or would it just look like ass?

the way the bezel is molded if you try and fit a 60mm gauge in it, even if you cut out some extra plastic, it will hit the moutning brackets that hold the pod itself around the gauge cluster.

Not sure what to think, looks kinda cool though. Does anyone know anything about a pod that mounts on top the steering wheel?

Here is the link Click

These Have been around for a few years, I have seen them mostly in superduty's and dodge diesels, where the guage cluster was much larger than our cars. In my opinion these wouldn't look as well as it might appear from the pics. Just my 2 cents though.

i was thinking today, for us 1g guys, where the top of the heater/air conditiong controls are, why not mold 2 or 3 gauges onto the top of that? it would resemble a 3000gt or viper.
heres a pic of the 3000gt, u can get the idea

I think they look really good...its a change from the A-pillar pods that say "STEAL ME!" My boy has them in his gst and they look very good, soon to be in mine as well...

Do you have any pics? I would like to see what that looks like.

Also any one have any info on the gauge mount on top the steering wheel?

that's a lot of guages

sjgYFZ200: there's your answer, isn't it? is that what you were talking about?

well, not really. you see where hes got that big single guage up on top of the console? im talking about up there. you could mold it real nice to flow with that, and i think it would look better than just sticking them in a vent. also, i still use my AC and heat, so i wouldnt want to block off my vents...
