Hello. Yesterday I removed my intake manifold in order to install a new knock sensor. (Was runnining with out one) I reibstalled everything and used new gaskets on throttle boy and intake. Now a couole problems that are new (since the reinstall) on a warm start it raises idle 2-3k in nuetral for a while but when in gear drops normal.

The car will studded randomly, and abs and cel come on, then go off and car returns to normal.

And last but not least my big 16g was boosting fine and then I was driving and now I do no boost what so ever.
No spool or anything.
Also the oem temp gauge reads like the engines runnibg cold , above the first line. Any ideas? I'm so confused. I checked for missing lines and plugs but nothing

I also how ever did clean the throttle body as it was gross and I used throttle body cleaner. I was also thinking however I have a 2g tb neck and I thought I could hook up my boost leak tester (same size) and shoot air through it and listen for leaks? But where would the pressure go if no leaks?

If it was surging itd be the isc. check the biss. the o ring in there can dry rot and leak. or any of the throttle body vacuum lights leaking will do that to

idle speed control. its in the side of the throttle body. maybe its getting hung up or something. most likely a boost leak

If you cleaned the t/b then maybe some gunk ran down into the isc. How about your fiav and it's corresponding gasket? Did you plug any unused vacuum lines or ports on the intake manifold? If your bcs was deleted there will be unused vac lines that need to be plugged. Sometimes you can overlook things when you first have a problem.

Did you put a new intake manifold gasket the 1gs have paper gaskets and tear very easy when you remove the intake.

Update:

Replaced intake manifold gasket
Throttlebody body to intake gaskets
New egr gasket
All lines hooked up.
Still has a leak sounding like under the manifold near egr and under the tb to intake gasket (brand new) my question is my egr valve has 3 nipples with 3 different lines go to it but the only ones I've see online have only 1 . Any possible ideas ?

Check the placement of the throttlebody gasket. One side has a hump in it that needs to go up and face the engine.

Also I adjusted the tb to mani gasket as I had it wrong but the leak still continues and seems to be on the bottom side of the tb somewhere. Should I rebuild the tb?

There is a big o ring that seals the isc motor and did you ever check your fast idle air valve?

did you blow the weld on the intake maybe? sorry, had to LOL. was the egr gasket replaced? for 2g the egr had only2. one went to evap canister and other went to the egr solenoid.

Ok so I've had the throttlbody rebyild my only question is the 2 bolts that bolt on the intake to the bracket and ar a pita to get to, do I have to put both of them back in? Or is it fine to leave out

To bad you didn't have a smoke machine to test where you are leaking from. My girl friends dads shop had one bag was much like the leak test that would pressurize the system and the smoke would either find it's way out from somewhere or stay contained till after de pressurized. You had to wear special type of goggles to see the smoke. But as for he rough idle like pauleyman mentioned the ground is for the ecu to show when you are off the throttle and it hits the stop the ecu holds you set idle speed without it, it's lost ad does it's own thing but you leak is definitely not helping the situation. Correct me if I'm wrong, that's just my understanding.

Smoke machines are nice but, you can get by with a blt and soapy water in a spray bottle. The fiav has a gasket, was it replaced? Pressurize the intake and spray the t/b and elbow area's and watch where the bubbles form. Post pics if you have trouble id ing the part/area in question.
