I did an intake leak test this morning, just for the hell of it. When I pressurized the system, the only leak I found was somewhere up by the injectors...and it smelled like gas.

Now, the other times that I have does this, there was always a large leak in the IC piping, etc. Until today, I was never able to build over 10 lbs of pressure during the test.
My question here is... how long should the system stay pressurized if there are no leaks at all? My pressure dropped off considerably fast and the only leak I could hear was up by the injectors.

I pressurized from 15-16 lbs.

Thanks in advance.

I use a compressor which I set to 20psi at the Boost Gauge (feeds off the FPR vac source).
Air will pass by the valves if not at TDC and out the exhaust port. Also if cold.. the piston rings are not fully sealing the cyls so may get blowby into the crankcase (normal).

Your results are what I'd expect from an intake test.. so the only repair would be to replace the Injector O-ring (and possibly the insulator). Mine had a leak there also.

As a separate step may want to do a compression test to check for worn valves / rings.
