Hey guys.. I have search to find something similar to my post, but nothing. I have just recently purchased a throttle body out of a 99 Which ONLY has 2 vac nipples on top("P" is missing a vac nipple). I need to know what do I have to do in order to make this TB on my 95 gsx work?

Block off the EGR and not plug in the vac line?
Install a vac nipple for the old TB and call it a day?
Block off a Vac Nipple?
What???

:dsm:

I purchased the TB from some guy who was parting out his car and TOLD ME that it had 3 vac ports, but when I received it... that wasn't the case.

I think the difference is the throttle body you bought came off of a Federal car, whereas your throttle body was most likely from a Cali car which would include the P port.

I have a Federal car in CA. No P port hooked to anything.
I'll poke around tomorrow and see if I have anything useful to contribute.

I think it's the other way around. My car is a Cali car and the TB only has 2 ports, E and A. No P port.

I'm running a 1G TB now.

OP, this thread is about swapping from a 2 port 2G TB to a 1G. Although it may not answer your question directly it may give you some ideas of how to hook up your TB.

Notice what state almost all the guys with 2 port TB's are from.:)

I dont believe the amount of vac lines on the TB has anything to do with it being a federal or cali car...
I believe 98-99's all have 2 port TB's, and 95-97 have 3 ports.
Now this is just a hunch BUT 95-97's have the charcoal canister under the battery tray which has a line from the TB going to it, and 98-99's have the charcoal canister right behind the front bumper.

Thanks for setting that straight. I'd had a long day :p

Interesting thoughts. You might be onto something.

EDIT: I just double checked my car. No P port and it is a Federal spec vehicle.
It starting to look like your idea is carrying some weight there Rich.

I'm sure theres a thread out there that has this all figured out already and we're just looking like a bunch of clowns.

Edit II: Rich FTW.
