I recently got my engine rebuilt and finally have it installed in stuff but I am having a problem. I just installed my afc, 550 injectors, and 255 fuel pump. I am having problems with the sensors. I just replaced the crank sensor( by the way it a 95 gst) the mechanic who worked on it told me there is a plate that turns that the crank sensor reads off of. Well he said that the plate was a little bent he straightened it out as much as he could. He told me that since it was bent it was rubbing against the sensor and messed the original one up. So I had it replaced. the car is not tuned yet just running regular right now so I can break in the motor and clutch. Wel it messed up again and this time he told me it was the cam sensor so I had that one replaced. Yesterday I went to go and pick up the car because it was done already, seemed fine was idling okay gave it gas sounded fine. So thought okay then I can take it home. I only made it to the corner store and the dam thing turned off on me at the gas station:cry: thought I was outta gas put some in still didnt start. Started checking stuff getting fire but no gas. I asked the mechanic about the symtoms he said that thats the same thing the car was doing before he replaced the sensor. So why would he sensor burn out again? He reccommended to do away with that sensor and get a sensor off an older model like a 90 or somthing and relocate it up there by the vavle cover. Does this sound like the right thing to do? I just need some suggestion on what to do with this dam thing I love my Dsm but it seems ever since I had the motor rebuilt I have been having problem after problem and I haven't even been able to put 500 miles on it yet. My buddy's dad got it to turn on last night but it was idling like crap now. They reccomended I get a diagnostic on it. There isn't to many ppl down here that really know there dsm mostly a lot of guys that work on honda's so I thought I would turn to ya'll for some helpful info. If ya'll need more info to help you diagnos the problem lmk and I Will try to find out what ya'll need

Thanks,
Johnny

Yes the check engine light was on. Checked the main vacum lines and a guy down here rebuilt the motor JE pistons, eagle rods I didnt get it bored over or anything they said they O-ringed the block. The guy that rebuilt my motor was a Honda guy so I dunno. I'm try and get a diagnostic today to see what kinda codes it shoots out.

Yeah post up what the code is and I can give you a print out on what it means :thumb:

Is the new crank sensor getting dammaged by the flywheel still? CW will do that but strange since the engine was rebuilt

I dont think it was hitting the flywheel. The guy mentioned somthing about a plate around the cranksensor that was bent and that was hitting the cranksensor I dont know what it is called. Well I got the thing to turn on my buddy's dad was messing around with some wires and somehow he got it to turn on but its idling like crap and I cant give it gas because it dies. The battery was disconnected so yall think I would have to readjust the AFC? Could it have to do with the injectors? Sorry for all the questions but where should I start first? I mean the cars running but not good enough to move it. Can yall give me some idea on where to start checking or what to check for. Obviously its getting enough fire and gas to start so could it be the injectors not opening correctly? Im stumped:beatentodeath:
