like title says i bought and installed a 10 gallon fuel cell with an external bosch 044 fuel pump and -8 lines from tank going to go to rail. now reading over some class regulations of some of the events i know , in the sport compact nationals it states

FUEL SYSTEM:
Fuel cell prohibited. OEM fuel tank mandatory. No other container,
fuel cell, bottle, etc. may contain any type of fuel. All cars must be
equipped with a drain valve located on return side of fuel rail to
facilitate removal of fuel sample for fuel-check purposes. See
General Regulations 1:5.

although boti says that fuel cells are permitted seems like some events allow it and some dont, the major advantage in a fuel cell over an oem tank is weight saving correct because you can just have a sump welded onto you fuel tank and reap the benefits of external fuel pumps and sport compact nationals have a weight limit i dont understand why you cannot have a fuel cell if there is a weight limit, 2900 with driver 1 power adder 3150 with driver 2 power adders. so my question is should i just weld a sump onto my stock fuel tank and put it back on or just use the cell and not participate in this event? mind you i allready have a large hole in my hatch floor where the spare is in the 1g awd i cut the hump out and installed the cell.
