I just got a set of 550 injectors, apexi fmic, maf-t and walboro fuel pump. I was wondering if I could put the injectors in first with out having to tune my car. I have a 95 tsi awd with an evo 16g, stock fuel pump and ecu. I don't know if the car will run rich or if the stock ecu will just keep running the same amount of fuel as the stock injectors. I'm going to take the car to the local speed shop to get the fuel pump and fmic maf-t set up put in and tuned. I just thought that I would try and do as much my self as I could. My car is a daily driver. So I don't want to have a lot of down time. Thanks for any info :talon: :thumb:

You dont say anything about cranking up ur boost...if ur runnin stock boost levels you really wont be utilizing the fuel pump or the 550s...So yes u can run 550s and a fuel pump if ur boost level is stock..and shouldnt have a problem. There really is no point to put 550s or a upgraded fuel pump without anything to compensate for em though

No the car won't run (or will barely run) with the 550s and no form of compensation. You need to install the GM MAF/MAFT set up at the same time as the injectors so you can use the MAFT to compensate for the larger injectors.

If you don't understand why, the ECU know's you have 450cc injectors stock. If you change those, the ECU doesn't know about that change. It still thinks you have 450s and sends a signal for the 450 to open then close letting out a certain amount of fuel. That open and close signal is going to let about 20% more fuel out if you've thrown 550s in there with no compensation.

IF hes running stock boost it doesnt matter it wont even need to utilize the 550s..I have ran 550s and a upgraded fuel pump before i got dsmlink and i ran fine..or at least it wasnt runnin like shiet

With the 550's, your car will run. It will idle like crap. You can drive it around. You will run rich. You may have problems with decel/coming to a full stop. Car might die and what not.

I had to move my car before with the stock ecu and my 660s in. The car will move/idle/run but as soon as I came to a full stop, it would fall on it's face and die.

It is really easy to install a fuel pump, and the maf-t. The hardest part would be installing the intercooler, and the piping for the gm-maf.

Fuel injector size isn't dependent on your boost level, I don't know who gave you that idea. Just read what he wrote ^^^^
