1G Injector/MAF/AFC Problem

Ok, I have my 93 Eagle Talon TSi AWD freshly rebuilt. I installed my FIC 650cc injectors tonite and was attempting to wire in my Apex S-AFC. I cut the airflow wire pink to ecu side orange car side, afc powers up, but when the afc is connected I get a CEL #12 which is MAS, i take the afc out of the loop and the car idles normally and the cel goes away, but the car is of course running EXTREMELY rich, but when I reconnect the mas wires to the AFC the car won't stay running at all. I have taken a multimeter to verify the wiring is good all the way INSIDE the afc, any idea what Im doing wrong, is my afc bad....any guesses here.

Have you made sure that the SAFC is set for using the Karmen sensor for airflow?
Without proper setup the SAFC will default to hot wire IIRC and present junk to the ECU.
