Does anyone know the injector dead time for PTE 1000cc injectors?
Thanks,Al

Try 345 deadtime, this will give you something to work from.

Are you using DSMLink?? If so start at 345 and log your fuel trims

Sorry it took so long to get back to you guys, but I had a bad accident at work last Monday and have since had 6 surgerys on my arm.I am using Dsmlink to tune with but it is a hacked copy...I got screwed in a trade for a built head, the guy sent a differant one than he had sent me pictures of,so here Iam with no support.I wasn't going feed you guys any bs about it,if you want to help that's good but if not I completely understand!I tryed several deadtimes and the closest I got the trim was -5.7 at cruise and 0.4 at idle.

Thanks for any help,if not it's understood...AL

Guys I didn't expect any help since I got shafted with a hacked copy of dsmlink, but I really don't won't you guys to hold it against me cause it's not like I knew it was hacked before I traded a head that I had over $450 in.Because before I would have that I would have just got a new one from Ecm Tuning. So
Thanks Al

do you have the manual that tells how to calculate and set the dead times? It's not to complicated, I'll outline it here for you. This baseline and trail and error are about the best ways to come up with the most accurated dead times

Use the long-term fuel trim (SelectedLTFT) value calculated by the ECU as your guide. The following outlines a good procedure for getting the dead time right for your setup.

1. Car must be fully warmed up then must be operated at cruise for about 10 minutes followed by idle for 5 minutes to get stable LTFT values.

2. Compare the LTFT at idle and cruise. You want both to be right about zero (+/- 5% or so).

3. If the two are about the same, dead time setting is good.

4. If they are equal but non-zero, adjust the global setting.

5. If idle LTFT is more positive than cruise LTFT, increase the dead time, if less, decrease.

Thanks to everyone that replied and I will try your suggestions as soon as I'm able,I'm still in the hospital from the injury to my arm, which I have had hopefuly the last of 7 surgeries on as of Wed. 11/14 and won't be released until Sun. or Mon. and this forum is about the only way I have to pass the time.
Thanks...Al

A bit off topic, but best of luck with your surgeries. and i CANNOT stress enough the importance of taking your PT seriously. I've had my left hip and left knee rebuilt from injuries i recieved racing and stunting motorcycles ( yet i still do it ). And from the first surgery ( the hip) i slacked on my PT and now have limited mobility there. I stuck out my knee's PT and even took it a step further and just went to teh gym on my own and did many more months than required and i'm up to full flexion and extension again with good ( but not perfect ) strength in it.

I'm putting off the back surgery as theirs too many risks involved for my tastes, so it looks like i'm on a steady regiment of Oxycodone for teh rest of my life :(

Be carefull out there, we only get one body!

Thanks Glenn,I'm still in a soft banage until they take the stitches and staples for the skin grafts out then I go to a hard cast for 6-8 weeks, then the pt starts.I know it's going to be tough but I'll have to give it my all since the Dr. said she'll be happy if I get 70% use and strength back. The break went into the wrist joint and I have a plate and 12 pins/screws in it,most of the surgeries were for the nerves that were damaged when the bone came through the skin.I'm like you on the back surgery though, all it takes is 1 oops and your done.
Thanks.. Al
