More often than not, when I'm out driving around, I notice that my tranny seems to be a little indecisive about what gear it wants to be in. I use the overdrive like I should...off around town and on backroads, and on when I'm on the highway or the freeway. And I also drive my car like it's made of glass. In any given week, my car MIGHT see RPM's over 4500 once or twice, so it could be the way I drive.
This usually happens during around-town driving with the OD off where the speed limit is between 25 and 35. It just feels like it's taking longer than it should to decide on a gear. Everything's gravy when it does, but for the couple seconds when it's switching, I can't help but look at my tach and wonder: "What the HELL are you DOING!?"
Another thing I notice is that when I'm coming to a stop, once I drop down below 30 or 40mph, then click off the OD, the downshifts seem a little jerky. It could be just the characteristics of the tranny, because when I had my fluid and filter changed not too long ago, my mechanic said that everything looked beautiful. Anyone ever experience the same?
