alright, since there is no audio section. i will post it here.

i am lookin' for a deck for my talon, and i've seen these decks before, but i don't know exactlly who makes em'.

the first one i have seen, the screen shows two tachs, and i think the needles go up and down? i think sony makes this one?

and the other one i have seen, shows two cars goin' at it (like racin'). and i think pioneer makes that one.

if anyone knows what the hell i'm talkin' about, please respond, and if u got pics, that'd be greatly appreciated.

* possible dsmtuners idea as well. a new section called "AUDIO"

I'm pretty sure you're looking for the Pioneer receivers and their OEL displays. Go to their website and check them out. You can try Crutchfield, also.

I've had 2 Pioneer OEL setups.. one of the first ones, a Pioneer Premier 720, and the newer silver faced one that folds down, I believe the Premier 840..

Anyway - Don't get too caught up in the display, it really loses interest and/or gets annoying after a couple of months. My P720 actually, after a year or two, began to overheat all of the time.

Pioneer's are definately great for the money, but don't go paying a fortune due to some little movie on it that you'll play 5 times to impress people, and thats it.

^ damn. that kind of sucks on how it would over heat like that? do you know if they offer warranties for there decks? the deck is only $420.00 i mean, that is alittle on the high side, but i would think its because of the movie, and well the screen is digital. and i suppose i should ask the question of to how do u get the movie from your pc to the actual deck? do u just d/l it, copy to cd, and then put in the receiver?

and i have never owned a car that had a cd player in it, and so i guess i want a cool one.

Both of my OEL's were around $350-400..
I didn't really look at the one you're interested in, but most, if not all of them just have a set of movies that come with the deck.. And thats it. I do believe there is something where you can bring a disk to the dealer and have them upload a movie to the receiver, something along those lines. I never did/cared about it. You seriously lose interest in the movies after you've shown all your friends once, that's all they're good for. Mine would just sit on the equalizer/radio station name view.

I didnt really check into the overheating, the cdplayer runs SUPER SUPER hot though, and I'm sure it damaged a few of my cd's over the years. I sold the car it was in a little bit after it began to overheat.

I bought mine for the same reasons you want it.. the movies - was pretty cool when I was 16 and just bought the car.

For $400ish.. I'd get an Eclipse. Definately on a totally different level from Pioneers. I had a complete Eclipse DVD/IndashTV system in my Prelude, and absolutely loved it.

pioneer does offer a warranty - 1 year. It doesn't cover damage to the screen like burned in images. Buy a warranty from best buy that'll cover it w/ no questions asked <--ymmv.

And if you pay cash DO NOT LOSE THE RECEIPT!

I lost mine for my cell phone, paid cash, and they said im basically SOL.

Yes depending on what deck you get you get more or less movies preloaded.. My p840 had a ton of them
