In-Dash TV Conflicts

Ok This question may sound really really stupid so please don't laugh. I'm not really that gullible either but I don't know much about electronics and DSM's (I just got the car so I'm still learning).

I have (or had) a Pioneer AVH-P7500DVD. The in-dash TV/DVD/CD/MP3 player with built in TV tuner. Came out of my Camry and wanted to put it in my 2nd gen. GST. Someone just told me that there are some screens that conflict with the car's ECU and has long term effects because of electro-magnetics or something like that.

They told me there are like only 3 in-dash TVs that work in the car.

I wanted to know if anyone has ever had a problem like this or has heard this before. Or am I just getting jerked around cuz this kid wants my TV.

I am no audio/video electronics expert so don't take my word for this, but I have never heard of a in-dash TV being able to affect ECU through electro-magnetics. So it sounds like this kid is wanting you to sell the thing so he can buy it for cheaper the new, but wait for some of the electronics gurus to come around and let you know for sure.

hahaha.. that's great.. tell your friend that there is no way you can put a indash in your car, becuse those 3 in-dash TVs that do work in your car, might not effect the ecu, but they create so much back pressure that they will cause a plate in your floorboard to come apart and blow off your car......... :p

all joking aside, your friend is wrong. You can put any in-dash into your car, and it will work the same as the next...

um...yes, it will completly melt your ecu, so if you want i will take it off your hands for a $100, only cause you sound like a cool guy. ;)

that is so ridiculous! I have an in dash TV and its fine and I wouldn't think twice if someone told me otherwise. Tell your friend to blow himself, he probably wants to buy it off of you or something. Install that thing man!

Did your P7500-DVD come with the hideaway unit, or did you have to buy them seperately.

I have the older P7000-CD, which i had to purchase the reciever seperately, but im ready to upgrade, and i dont want to plan on $1500 when its more like $2000... and no websites want to tell me for sure.

does anybody know please? thanks

no funny bullshit pics ???

Unless of course this guy is on crack , there is no excused for saying such non-sense .

DSMs don't like Pioneer products.....your friend must have been saying," Install a IVA-D300...yeah, one of those." :thumbdown

LOL... ok I thought he was just tryin to get my TV... just wanted to make sure though considering this is my first dsm and i'm still learning about it...

And for those of you who are interested, I can get you TV's and other performance parts throught my company. Just e-mail me or IM me.
