In-Car Adjustable Suspension

Hey there all,

I have done quite a bit of browsing & digging and cannot come up with a straight answer...

What options are there out there for in-car adjustable suspension (stiffness rather then height adjustment) for a 1g/2g DSM?

As it sits, what I have found is the Tein Flex w/ EDFC should work. The Tein website does state that the 2g is compatible however as with a 1g, there are mixed reports of compatibility.

Can anyone confirm/deny such compatibility with any products? I am concerned that due to the design of the strut towers in DSM's does not allow for in-car adjustable suspension due to the hood being too close.

What about other brands/suspension setups??? I thought Tanabe had a solution but I have not been able to find any information about it.

is there a reason you want in car adjustable suspension? what are you performance goals? with the 3k you would spend on suspension like this theres alot you could do.


i know the idea sounds good but once you got it you would realize what a waste of $. there is only one perfect setting for each car and for each type of racing (drag auto X)

yeah manual adjustment is pretty much all you need, once you get it dialed in you are good to go.

The TEIN Flex coilovers won't work on the 1g dsm. However, TEIN does make a coilover system for the 1g GSX (D27A Chassis code), the SS-P (Super Street, with pillow ball upper mounts). But the SS-P system is not EDFC compatible. Tanabe's Sustec Pro S-0C coilover systems are only for the 2g dsm.

But for the money it's hard to beat a set of lowering springs like an Eibach Pro Kit (1.0" drop) or Eibach Sportline kit (1.8" drop) or TEIN STech (1.5" drop). And the springs should offer more than enough performance for you, but if not you could upgrade your struts and still spend far less than a full coilover kit.

At this point, my performance/operational goals aren't limited to my suspension selection - I am quite lazy and was being speculative in terms of options.

I am aware of the various other manual adjustment options however if cost wasn't an issue, I was wondering if there was anything that out there.
