I have been searching the forums for a litttle over a day, with all different key works so I have a very good understanding of what the cyclone intake manifold is now. Ive seen everybodys take on the pros the cons, the install griefs and so on. In this reading I've seen that one of the requirements is the matching JDM ECU. Now, when i came across this motor i had gotten it with a eprom. Will that work or does it need the JDM ECU?

Also, after weighing out alot of the options from my searching. I've strayed away from the thought of using it at all. Being that my car is a 2g, my spare parts lying around the garage are for the most parts also 2g. If i decide not to use the cyclone and all the bull that comes with it, can you use a 2g intake manifold on a 1g head?

After searching this I didnt find much except a thought off a vaccuum leak which was contradicted in a later post?
So ya, thats my dilema for now. I hope you guuys can help me out.
Thank you.

dont use a 2g intake manifold on a 1g head unless its a 1g 7bolt. the 6 bolt head has way larger intake ports than the 7bolt motors. if your putting a 2g intake manifold on a 1g 7bolt then it is the same intake that it comes with stock

Thanks, very helpful. It is a 6bolt, but as you said its not a good idea anyway. Im timid about the cyclone intake. Im going to just grab a 1g intake manifold and make life easier. Again thanks for the help and the quick responces.

Just popped into my head now, I still have the good 2g head from my other motor. Am I better off doing a little bit more work and swaping the 2g head onto the 1g 6bolt now and using all 2g top end. Or looking for a 1g intake manifold?

It's up to you in how much work you want to do. Overall, the 2g head itself is a better choice (go read all the debates). However if you go the 2g head route, you'd be better off trying to find an Evo 3 or RVR intake manifold than using the stock 2g one.

So whether you want to spend the money (head studs, head gasket, possible head refresh, etc.) to swap on the 2g, or just find a 1g intake manifold is up to you.
