Well, it's been a while since i've been on here cause i had to sell the old talon
. The car had been rear ended a few years back and the rear suspenion gave out. The lower control arm was bolted through the frame just like normal, but the bolt on the inside of the frame broke off! Oh well...
So last week a friend of the family called me up and said that his brother had a 91 mitsu eclipse 2.0NT for sale! He was asking $995. So i go look at the car, it has some horrible flames on the hood, and I mean horrible, but anyways i start it up and it is idle surging. No problem, i just didn't want to pay the bill to fix it, those parts are expensive. I still ended up buying it for $800 and I drove it 100 miles home with no problems.
So i pop the hood to start diagnosing the idle problem and narrowed it down to a vacume leak. I went over everything and couldn't find a leak. I was getting frustrated when i noticed a sucking sound from around the timing belt. Got out some brake parts cleaner and sprayed it on the intake seal and "WAAAAAAA" the idle went up! Time for an intake seal....
So today a buddy of mine got the intake off and noticed the motor has a brand new head! Not too bad huh? New brakes, new tires, new head, balance shafts removed and a clean interior! After doing a tune up, fixing the intake, ajusting the clutch, replacing the grear oil and replacing a coolant temp sensor i'm only out $850 total!
Now, what do do about the paint....? It is the maroon color eclipse with a black top. Anyone want to give some advice on a paintjob from the doors forward?
