IHI 16G Turbo

Is the IHI bb Super 16g killer turbo a direct bolt on for a 1g (manifold and oil lines, coolant line)?

Will the stock o2 housing bolt up to it?

What do you guys think of this turbo in general?

Im buying it tommorrow so need to know and couldnt find much infol.

Oh do you think that this is a subaru turbo? Its on dsmsource and i talked to the guy.
Do you think he might just have the name wrong?

Looks like the thing should bolt to the exhaust manifold, not sure about the O2 housing, need more pics. Sounds like you're committed already, let us know how it works.

the turbo outlet looks like a 2g style outlet, you may have to mode your intercooler piping, I'm also interested in looking at the o2 housing to make sure it's 100% compatible

IHI turbos are for subaru's dont think that it will work.

IHI is a turbo manufacturer. They made the turbos on the Turbo Probes and Mx-6s w/ the 2.2, If i recall correctly they made the unit for the 2.3 in the SVO and Thunderbirds. They also sell or have sold to GM, fiat, and renault. They also produces units for aftermarket consumers.

I had one on my GSX, it will bolt up to the manifold. It was one the car when I bought it so i don't know if anything had to be changed. I don't remember any coolant lines on it and the oil supply line was S.S. braided. It was a good turbo for a car that is not trying to make alot of hp. I never really got a chance to push it because it blew up on me. It will spool quicker than a 16g but falls off on the top end like all small turbos.

IHI is also putting their turbochargers on the EVO X's. The platform is not that of a 4g63 so I think you will require at least a new manifold and o2 housing for it to work.

Are you sure that IHI is putting their turbos on the Evo X's? Why would Isuzu Heavy Industries put their turbo on a Mistu product?

given that mistubishi makes turbos, that is a good question. Unless mitsubishi is getting out of the turbo making game...?

I hope they aren't getting out of the game. The engineering on some of their parts is vastly superior to other Japanese manufacturers.

They're still in the game... MHI increases turbo production
