Dont know abotu your setup but it did fix my creep, thanks.
So you're saying you were creeping at first, after installation of just an o2 dump without anything else like porting, bigger flappers, raising your boost level...etc, your boost creep was completely eliminated? If this is the case, I stand corrected. Apparently there are more success with O2 dump than I originally though, most of the time you just hear people complaining about still creeping after an O2 dump. However, I still stand behind the claim that o2 dump is not needed for curing boost creep.

Well i am sorry i read that really fast. I did do some porting the same time i did the 02 dump. The main reason why i got the 02 dump was that it was recommended because i was going to a full 3" exhaust. I was told by a very reliable DSM guy that with a straight 3" exhaust boost creep will come into play which is why i went with 02 dump. With the combination of the two my boost is perfect.

He is absolutely right except you could have done it with porting alone. Check out this tech article, he has almost the same setup as you.

" Much of this could be blamed on my 3 inch free flowing exhaust, and the elimination of my cat"

Yeah same setup. I did port both the turbo and the stock manifold :thumb:

Okay im so confused about something. None of my stuff is ported at all, i have an evo 3 w/ the normal flapper and when i have my boost set to say 14, it stays at 14. I run 20psi daily and thats where it stays. Idk, maybe im one of the lucky few :p

What type of exhaust you running , stock ?

Correct me if i a wrong(other guys) but with the backpressure of the stock dp you should be fine. I didnt start having problem with the T25 (when i had it) with my stock DP and cat. Once i took the cat out and put the bigger DP on i was creeping to like 23 PSI on stock turbo. Needless to say the turbo didnt last much longer :thumb:

yeah just sell off the Dumped o2 housing and get a Tubular one from Punishment Racing for 120 i think they are. they may not look the best, but they work dam good.

i for one like the sound of a dumped o2, though on a manual car only. my buddy had it on a automatic, and it would just sound like ass the whole time, and between shifts it would kinda sound like wet ass since there was less load on the turbo. but on a manual it will sound like ass, then stop, then sound like ass again.

though external dumps are alot better sounding from what ive heard(especially on larger turbos).

porting is the only cure for creep. dumping is just a bandaid fix, that, unless you really like the sound and got lucky, you wasted money.

how about that muffler idea? I heard about that before and was curious. It's kind of self defeating, but i don't know. You are trying to free things up with the external and then you add backpressure with another separate muffler. Maybe a flow through design on a small muffler on the end of that 12" piece of pipe. If i had the setup i would give this a try possibly.

Yes, the muffler on the dump tube has been done many times with all different types of cars. Most people use mufflers off of 4 wheelers and crotch rockets. I don't think they really help much with noise suppression; they moreover help change the output sound to what most people consider to be a more pleasing sound. :thumb:
