Ok guys im having a horrible problem, were trying to start my Galant after a rebuild, ive replaced the battery with a bigger one, also replaced the starter.

Now i turn the key and nothing happens, the starter doesnt click but you can hear all the relays hitting. I have also noticed that my fuel pump isnt priming itself...im totally lost, i need to get this thing running for work...im tired, cold, and frustrated help a fellow out ###... :sosad:

Did you check to make sure the starter is grounded properly? Bad ground could cause it also. ( I know dumb question but you never know).

cool anytime...ya it sounds like your circuit is not completing somewhere. hope you get it fixed soon. good luck. :thumb:

yea i had it sent off...the dude made sure it was good, it was shipped back and put directly in the car...

what has thrown me off more then anything...i know for a fact the starter is good...but why would it only click inside when you turn the key, could a relay really do somthing like that.

like i said if i hook a 12v source to the starter it works great...im lost, cold and ready to kill

My clicking noise was due to damaged rails on the ECU. I'm not really sure what else would set off the relays. Does the relay only click when you try to crank the car or just when the power is on?

I honestly think its my relay...but is it possible a relay could be letting some power through but not enough to kick the starter, or is it one of those, its either good or bad things?

No I have no checked my clutch...however its unhooked and the clutch pedal is to the floor all the time...but ill check

when you say it is unhooked do you mean it as the pedal is on the floor but the clutch itself is still up all the way? If manual trans the clutch has to be disengaged to start the car?

Disconnecting the clutch safety switch allows you to start the car without pushing the clutch in.

I know you say the starter is good but did you check the starter before installing it? I know it sounds dumb but after replacing many parts I always check to make sure they function properly. I mean you wouldnt do trial and error with piston rings would you?

Not that I recommend this but I have a neat little contraption I built to make sure everything works properly. It is basically two wires and a switch. I hook it up to the starter make sure the key is on and its out of gear. But you're sure about those grounds?
