well after doing some research i decided to just post... my 92 tsi is revving from 1k to about 1.5k at idle only and then droping back down repeat..... i checked my ISC and its fine. i noticed if i take of that single wire connected on or near the trottle it stops, when i put it back on it surges again. i dont know if that any indication of what it is, but any help would be great thanks

Seems like unhooking random wires always seems to help are cars run betterROFL LOL

Mine had a similar problem so I changed the ISC gasket which didn't help. So I unpluged this sensor connected to the throttle and now my car runs great:thumb: Some guy told me the sensor was connected to the air conditioning and helped adjust the throttle:confused:

does anyone know if there are any bad effects if i run the car without that wire (red dot) connected? thanks

its not good. The comp doesn't get a signal so your car will not run as well. There is an undelying issue that needs to be fixed.

the idle when the wire is off is most likely high...right.

Clean your throttle body but be sure not to damage the fiav or whatever the little ball of wax in it is. So cover the holes when you do it. I had mine in the shop forever trying to find out what it was and it just so happened that the little ball of wax was damaged. Mine had the same idle surge and if you pulled the wire off it fixed it but idled high.

yeah i figured the same that removing the wire just raised my idle so it did not drop or put it into limp mode. i was just wondering if i could run it like that until i fixed it. but it might just be better to drive it surging.
