Attempted to do the free FIAV block off and couldn't turn the dial all the way in causing some mild idle surge after hooking everything up. Gave it another go last night and punched a whole through the dial with the pliers trying to turn it. With the hole in the dial I was finally able to turn it all the way in by sticking the pliers in the hole. Put some rtv on the freeze plug and hoped it would be rectified.. started it up and

Pay no mind to the belt, needs to be tightened.

Also included a pic of the fiav dial right before I punched a hole in it.

Anyway my question if I buy a fiav bypass plate and install it, would it completely negate the damage I did and take the fiav out of the system completely? Or Am I looking at getting a new bottom end of the TB (the ICS/FIAV section). And would I be able to use a 1g nt (91-94) FIAV/ICS bottom section. Thanks..

If you do a fiav delete, you won't be able to use your IAC. You can do a fiav bypass place and keep the ISC. Your choice. . .

Why not? They are completely separate passages. I never farted around with that stupid screwing-in trick. I also never wanted to fart around with block-off plates because the passages, while separate, are share a slight bit. I opted for the cleaner look, and simply cut off the end of the FIAV and JB-welded in a length of aluminum pipe. It was stuff commonly used in closets to hang coats onto.

An FIAV bypass plate will do the same thing that you did by turning in the dial (but possibly better if you aren't sure you did it properly).

An FIAV blockoff plate will replace the whole FIAV unit (meaning you don't have to install it).

Yes, you can use an FIAV unit from any 1g or 2g throttle body. The only one you can't use is from a '90, but those aren't removable.
