Idle seems a bit high...

What is a 93 eclipse 4G37 supposed to idle at? When I bought the car, it idled at around 1400rpm with AC off....seems really high compared to all other cars I've driven.

Trying adjusting your idle with the biss screw on your throttle body. It should idle at 750

My car's weird because the idle speed tends to change over time. At first it may be as high as 1500 rpms. Then after some acceleration, it might drop to 1000 rpms. Then eventually it will get down to 750 rpms. I still have to look into it .

Thats only on cold starts right? If so thats normal

the car does this after its been on awhile too.....while i'm at a stop light in neutral or in 1st w/foot on the clutch, for example, it's at 1500....i'll adjust the biss screw tomorrow and give you a reply.

sorry about the wait on the post... i turned the idle down to ~ 750, but if I turn the AC on while it's idling , it begins to shake A LOT. the idle then drops to around 400 which is not good as the car sputters and struggles to stay alive.
