just took my first idle log and i noticed a couple things were wrong.

first was my timing. shows 7-9* at idle, shouldn't it be 5*? how do i retard the timing to normal?

second, my front o2 was reading 0.00v?

third, my coolant temps were hitting over 213f, seems rather high and the fans kicked on, any reason it would be running so high? it was maybe 50ish degrees out today.

fourth, i enabled the idle switch by tps and when i would be light on the gas it would have this buck like the injectors shut off for a second then picked back up.

i know the log is only about 4-5 minutes but if anyone could take a look and leave some feedback i'd appreciate it, also on what else to monitor.

If your o2 sensor is not working you could be creating a lean condition and the car would not know it. This would cause it to run hotter, and heat up your coolant faster. I would fix this because your car is not cycling the o2. 210 degrees is a little hot but not critical and if your fans kicked on then your ok. There aren't many option with whatever version of ecmlink you are using, I am assuming the car has stock injectors etc... there is not a whole lot of information in the log. The only thing in the log that I noticed was off was the same thing you noticed. Bad o2. As far as the timing, mine jumps around more than that. I would just verify the base timing is set by clicking the Misc tab then click the button that says ground timing connector to ECU and hit it with a timing light. If you hit that tab your log will probably show it sitting at 5 degrees. Without that timing connector grounded, the timing will move.

Get a new front o2 sensor.

Timing is normal.

Why are you simulating idle switch from TPS? Assuming you have a 2g TPS, then it has the idle switch built in.

Add the following values to your captured/displayed values lists.
CombinedFT
LTFT Lo
LTFT Mid
LTFT Hi
STFT
Throt Pos
TPSVolts
OpenLoop
ClosedLoop
MAF
MAFRaw
MAFComp
ISCPosition

i simulated the idle by tps because it was the only way i could get it to sit at a steady idle, otherwise it idles about 400rpms.

i rechecked timing and it was dead on. good thing i have another o2 sensor still stuck in my extra o2 housing.

thanks for the replies, just wanted to make sure everything looked about right.

Have you done a boost leak test, tested your ISC, and adjusted your BISS (should shoot for 30 for ISCPosition once you start logging it)?

haven't tested my ISC, not sure of how to im sure it's online somewhere though. boost leaks checked out fine and taken care of, i'd rather not adjust the biss till i have a little more experience setting the idle through link then giving it a fine adjustment. also i dont have a wideband yet so im trying to avoid playing with air/fuel till next week or so when i get my lc-1.

Also, make sure to watch all of these, especially the last one which will help you dial in your idle.
ECMTuning, Inc.

Make sure to get the ISCPosition value logged and at 30 by adjusting BISS at idle after the car has fully warmed up. Then you can watch the videos above and follow the steps in #8 to correct AirflowPerRev and CombinedFT.

why wont any more values show up when i try to take a log? i added all the devices you listed but im stuck with the same ones in the log. im only on V2 for now if that makes a difference.

ok got that taken care of but no matter what i do now my ISC position is crazy low and wont go up no matter what way i adjust the biss. it started at about 50 then started to slowly drop and its at like 2 now and this is driving me crazy i have no idea why this wont work.

not only that but my front o2 voltage keeps going from like 0.00 to 0.02 then 0.04 then back to 0.00.
