i have a 1999 mitsubishi gsx with a 6bolt head, 78k (20k on head) bought it after if had been sitting for about 4 years wouldn't start i got it for cheap and the problem was clogged injectors and bad fuel.

i swapped over all my mods from my 98 that i blew the motor in to the 99

so all new fuel system ( afpr, stm tank to rail kit, evo 9 injectors )

whole new fmic and pipes

no boost leaks ( checked )

emissions delete

brand new evo 3 16g

now for the problem...

when started cold the car idles at 2000 and seems fine

when warmed up it idles between 1000-1500 bouncing and if i give it WOT after i let go it will drop to around 600 and somethings stall out..

on top of all of that in the injector area it makes a funny crackleing noise ( made the noise before i swapped over the mods )


i am confused on what may be causeing this please help
 
I have the same problem it needed an airfilter now it's fine but I ended up killing an injector:(
 
Check your throttle body. I've had similar issues in the past and after removing the tbody, cleaning it thoroughly (getting all the small holes with a pipe brush), cleaning the carbon buildup on the BISS and replacing the o-ring, and then resetting the idle, the car idled smooth and didn't have any stalling issues. This is a good place to start to make sure all of the small things are in good working order before you start to shoot the parts canon at it.
 
There not the same apparently, took the one out of my 98 and it's black with 2 8mm bolts mounting it, the isc in the 6bolt head is brownish mounted by 3 Phillips screws and says E9T15292 looked it up then I get the part # for the 98 isc... Anyone have one that's says e9t15292 laying around?

Swapped isc little change but same symptoms, dies after wot but the idle got a little better
 
Car idles fine now but still dies after I pass 3k and let go, the rpms drop really low and it dies, and the wideband says 10.5-11 when this is happening Showing not enough air or Too much fuel, I've adjusted the afpr thats correct, replaced all I have posted previously -__-
 
Did you test the ICS?, or you just changed it.

I replaced my ICS twice, I had a really big headache trying to solve the problem.

After testing the ICS, I saw that the second ICS was bad as well.

Test the ICS with a voltmeter,

Also, is your bov vented?.
If it is vented, then that's your problem.

By the way, 91 to 99 ICS are the same, they are different in color and appearance, But they all fit and do the same job.
