Hey guys i bought this turbo about a year ago and i cant for the life of me remember what it is. I know its a 50 trim of some sort and my guess is a bullseye from the turbine housing, but some more input would be great.

Well it definitely appears to be a bolt-on Garrett of some type.
50trim refers to a specific compressor wheel. That is an a/r .50 compressor housing, but not the same thing.
Most likely there will be any compressor wheel in there ranging from a 50trim to 60-1. You will have to remove the compressor cover and measure the inducer and exducer of the compressor wheel itself to pair it up with the specific "trim" of wheel.
 
wow that looks awful LOL good thing i got a good deal. I have been looking around and it seems to be a to4b compressor cover, so i am looking at better compressor wheels. Does the m-trim effect the turbine wheel? or are they pretty standard?
 
Keep in mind that in that comparison Slowboy admits the M-Trim couldn't hold 25psi to redline because of the wastegate actuator being too softly-sprung, but even at 20psi the Evo III still made more power and spooled a few hundred RPMs faster than the M-Trim.

***This is all just speculation; I'm stating that it appears to be a BEP M-Trim. We won't know the facts until you pull the housings and measure the wheels; although that turbine appears to be too small to be a T31 which is the popular turbine in most 50trim Hybrids. There's no reason not to tear it down and measure the wheels- anytime I receive an unidentified turbo at the shop, it's tore down and measured within 5 minutes.***


Don't go swapping compressors or you'll spend a ton of money building a turbo that is only limited to what the turbine can flow.

A new compressor wheel is $120+; getting the backplate and compressor cover machined may cost an additional $100+....and we haven't even started talking about internals, labor, or balancing costs yet.
 
I guess im not as turbo smart as i thought i was. I was under the impression that the t04b compressor cover was very widely used i didnt realize i would need to machine the comp cover.

I emailed the pictures of the turbo to Bullseye and they said it was their exhaust housing but not their turbo. I am going to measure the wheels later today.
 
Well I got my FP race manifold and in the process of swapping it on I checked the turbo. Compressor is 58mm inducer and 84mm exducer giving me 47 trim and the exhaust is 56mm exducer and 61.5mm inducer.

I am on my phone trying to search around but if anyone knows more about this turbo please let me know!

what kind of gives it away on the lag part is the count of the compressor blades only being six (even though they've got a deep pitch to them...), where as the B16g has 12 blades..

Thus one would think that it takes almost double the shaft RPM's to produce the same PSI as the B16g.
