I’m really thinking of buying an eclipse.
the problem is I live in a very small county with a lot of traffic. Most of the roads are very bad so really suvs are the best here. Regardless many people have many different cars as the community here is big. Many mustangs and corvettes and Lexus. Manual cars are a minority here because you can literally drive the whole county from top to bottom in under an hour with no traffic. With all these I still want an eclipse. Could it work as a daily driver here? I’ve only seen 2 eclipse for sale both are a 1995 gst. One of them has 124000 miles and the other has less. Both manual.

I found 2 which were both around $3500 to $4000. And yes that’s what I’m worried about, availability of parts. I will ask around Mitsubishi dealerships if they have brake pads and other maintenance parts or if something needs replacing.

The GST is a really good model IMO.
These cars can be daily driven when properly maintained. That means one of the biggest maintenance check sheets out there. For the most part the whole car will more than likely need hoses and seals. The other worn parts will arise quickly after the constant driving. I do not recommend this platform to anyone who can't do most of this maintenance themselves because paying a mechanice will be considerable. I would have a reliable backup car to use i think you will need it. Large amount of hours in work and waiting on parts can take forever since they are so old. Its hard but getting these cars back to their glory days is a super satisfying feeling. If you are ok with this stuff i would totally get one. This is the best source of info in this forum. The wisemen are incredibly helpful as are most of the proven members and vendors. Good luck hope you can get one should you decide to.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. I don’t live in the US but I wanted to ask some questions.
Please correct your profile. You are welcome wherever you are. Getting parts outside the US could be difficult depending on the mitsu presence wherever you are.

I couldn’t figure out how to keep something outside the us. It just showed me all the states and I chose Tennessee

I would

I have trouble getting some parts in the US. Outsourcing parts from another country might get difficult like Paulyman said. I would do some research and find out how and where you could source parts prior to committing to the project. I would just assume that part deliverys will most likely be delayed. Have jack stands and a trusty jack on the ready. Consult the archive of info that is relevant to you here on the forum. No one knows these cars better. Any problem that has ever been experienced on this platform has made a post filled with answers so you certainty won't have to do it alone entirely. Miles on a car aren't really a deciding factor, it boils down to good upkeep. No matter the miles they are all old cars.

Yes I realized miles don’t matter. Is there a way to check if the car has been well maintained? Just by looking at it

And what parts do you think will need replacing?

As Jeff glazed over, all of the hoses and the belts, particularly the timing belt, which you can't see unless you take the top cover off. They need changed at 60k mile intervals or before.
