I need a front motor mount that is NOT an insert

All you would have to do is measure the mount diameters of the original mounts and order some inserts from prothane that fit the specs. Press the original mounts out and put the new prothanes in, that easy! When one of you gets the measurements be sure to post the specs so we can search for the mounts.

it's a hard measurement to get accurately when i still have the mount stock. I havn't removed anything from them yet (except sides, those mounts are done).

I'll try to measure though, and maybe then i could use the rear mount for the front, and get a new insert of the correct dimensions for the rear, and just chuck the little fakie insert altogether.

I'll be back in a min with a couple measures (or as best as i can get them).

Alright, for the rear a/t mount i read 3.125" or 3 1/16th(ish) diameter, and about 2 5/8th wide. It's hard to read it for sure with the existing mount intact.

I got onto prothanes website and they're motor mounts aren't listed by dimension. Just car application.

So i don't know what to do there.

I still need more help on this.

Thats great, now you have the measurements. You should probably try to pull them out to get them though, or find someone that has them out to get more exact measurements. Also, you should try to get a mm measurement as well as a standard, just in case. But if you think your measurments are pretty accurate than you need to call Prothane or Energy Suspension and ask if they have any mounts or just universal urethane bushings that fit your need. Let us know what they say and if they have them after you call, this is long needed info that the whole DSM community will benefit from. Good Luck!

My mounts are out already, which is why i need this done quickly. The motor will be ready to go back in wednesday.

But i will be on the phone tomorrow asap and let you all know. I'm also going to call a few dsm vendors/shops to see what they have to say. I'm sure somewhere along the line Buschur or slowboy or RRE has put these into a a/t dsm and figured out how to make it work.

Once i figure this out though, i think it should become a sticky in the a/t section, or i'll do a write up on it. Because i'm sure i'm not the only one who is having issues with this. And i DO NOT feel like just putting the stock mount back in. Especially not when it's this easy for me to knock them out. I just need the necessary info.

if the rear mount is larger(and i think it is) then you could just trim the outer diameter of it until it will pop into the front mount bore.
if you have a bench grinder with a wire wheel on it, that would be the way.
just wear off little by little till its in there.

Ok, i said Eff it because i needed this done today. So what i did was just cut out the insert from the stock mount, but leave the excess rubber in the mount. Then what i did was basically just "port" out the rubber till i got the prothane insert to slide in.

Looks really nice, and fits like a freekin glove.

So to future people doing this. I'd say to forget pulling out the "retaining ring" and just leave it in there with a small ring of rubber. The prothanes will slip in (with a little effort if you didn't get it perfectly round) and you're good to go.

I would have loved to have found a mount to fit right in it, but i just didn't have time.

But i did make it work.
