they look like normal projection lights...i dont think theres a certain brand with them...just look up 2g projection lights on Ebay...I'm sure you'll find them there...

I like my set. Light projection and brightness is much better than stock (even better than the $50 PIAA bulbs I found in my stockers, LOL I was honestly surprised. The cut off is clean, but the alignment is not perject. There's a little scatter when the lights are not focused in with each other, but it's really not bad at all.

Lights are not on, just the reflection of the camera's flash.

The lights are slightly out of focus. You can tell where the left beam starts to fade and where the right beam kicks in

I have the same lights as Tobuk, and I agree... For projection lights, the lines aren't crisp, but they sure as hell do look good on the car. They're not HID ready projectors, but you can't really complain with a set up headlights that are 100 bux off ebay with halos already installed.

Howie~

No not really, if you just put in a set of HID bulbs they will look like hell and blind oncomming drivers. They arn't designed with the proper cut off for HID lights.

If you want to go HID do it right the first time and buy a set of oem HID, projector and balasts of ebay and retrofit them into your stock lights.

You get a projector from a car that comes stock with HIDs then mount it inside the ebay projector housing.. according to the internets, using the ebay projectors makes retrofitting a lot easier..
Any ways theres a Vfaq on the tech articles section here, and if you search theres another article on how to retrofit HIDs in those head lights..

Tobuk,
who was the seller for your specific auction?
were these lights truly plug and play, or did you require some modification such as soldering?
have they leaked in any moisture?
do the turn signals blink orange?

Thanks

When I got mine, I had to get the wiring harness out of my stock lights.. As for the blinkers they are not orange, you need orange bulbs.. I just left the regular bulbs in and no trouble from the coppers.:thumb:

Thanks for the swift reply.
So you did have to some wire matching and sodler up a dozen wires or so?
And what color is the blinker then? Is it just a flashing white bulb?
I think orange/tellow is mandatory as far as legal goes.. maybe depnds on what state etc.

Just lookin for as much info I can get before a purchase. Might be worth paying $150 for a set that is PnP for real.

EDIT: which seller?

Yeah, Ebay! But not some ordinary ones. They are the higher end lights with halo's. There are a set that look like they could be oem... which I also have on another eclipse of mine. But here are mine with Audi Valeo D2S Projector beams and 10000k HID's.

1. I bought mine from a company called Motor Blvd on ebay. Had a good buying experience, and shipping was very quick. They fit right onto the car, no problems. I would recommend pulling off the weather stripping on the outside of the stockers and gluing them onto these halos to help fill the tiny gap between the light and the fender. (and to help keep moisture out, etc)

Only complaint is that the pictures of their ads show the halo as a full circle of light, but in reality there is a 1/2 inch break or so on the bottom (like most other halos). Oh yeah, and they were not plug and play, which is explained next.

2. No, they were not plug and play, even though they were supposed to be. I just cut off the plugs and wired together the appropriate wires from the car to the lights for low beams and high beams. I didn't have to solder anything. I just pinched the wires together with those little handy dandy wire pincher things you can get from anywhere. Then just wrap them tight with some electrical tape to protect them. There were only a few wires to do for each light, not a big hassle at all.

The blinker bulbs are attached to the car, so they pull out of the OEM headlight and go straight into the new headlight. As for the halos, I wired those in with the oranges, but there is a secondary cut-off that must be inside the headlight housing that makes the halos turn off when the lo/hi beams are on. (but they blink whenever I activate my car alarm...it looks cool)

3. No moisture yet, and it's been very wet/rainy/windy/snowy up here in the Seattle area the entire time since I got them. So far so good.

4. Well, they are not really orange but my stock bulbs aren't white either. Kind of a soft yellowy-orange. I don't think I would ever get any trouble from the cops with them. I am however going to eventually look for a bulb that is the same color as the side markers. Or get clear side markers and then get matching bulbs... or something...

But here are mine with Audi Valeo D2S Projector beams and 10000k HID's.

10000K? They must be nearly purple. You are certainly not getting much light out of those.

Those projectors do suck, I had them on mine and couldn't see anything even with better bulbs. Also the halos in them burned out in like a month. They were a waste of time money, and energy.
