I have no gears!

Please Help me. Today I let someone drive my car and they call me up telling me theres something wrong he said that 1st and 3rd wont go into gear. So i get home and i can shift into any gear. Please help me track down the problem. I also just installed a new clutch,flywheel,pivot ball and fork about 400 miles ago.

Did you check your linkage to see if its still on?

Yes there still connected but they seem a little sloppy If I try and shift them myself I sounds like I can get different gears.

Check your clutch fluid level. If its low or empty then it is leaking somewhere. If you see fluid around where your clutch pedal is inside the car, then your master cylinder is leaking. Which was my problem when something like this happened to me. You may also want to check your slave cylinder and see if it is leaking also. Its near the front of the transmission, just pull the boot back and see if there is any fluid.

Did you check the c clip that holds the linkage in place on the tranny?

I didn't check the clip but they are connected.

How does your clutch pedal feel? And can you put the car in a gear and drive?
