I hate hahn and I also hate stock. Help please!

I'm almost done doin this super 16g install w/ the adaptor kit, well my oil filter is unable to go on cause the stock dp is in theway. I have it hooked onto the 2.5" o2 that came w/ it by 1 bolt, the other side i can't get the nut on since there is not enough room for even my fingers to fit there, not even a wrench either.

I heard there was some smaller oil filter that we can use to make clearance for bigger exhausts. Is this true? If so, whats the part #?

I use the 3000GT filter. I also have a 2.5" tubular o2 housing with a 3" DP. It fits. I could even probably fit a stock eclipse filter on there.

6-bolt oil filters are larger in diameter and a little shorter than the 92-99 oil filter. STP oil filters for our cars are very, very small (compared to stock) and would probably work. might want to try an EVO oil filter also, since they're not too tall.

You can use diffent oil filters if the current one doesn't fit. If you go to your auto store and compare oil filters you'll see that some are much smaller than others that you can use.

yeah, i have heard the 3000gt oil filter fits just fine. try that?

i use the stock filter for a 97 gsx, and i have a 2.5 inch downpipe. in order to get it off i use a massive set of channel locks to clamp down on it and twist it off, since i cant fit a wrench past the downpipe.

is the smallest I've found with the same size rubber o-ring and fits right on. Very small and everything fits down there good.

nope, it's the result of driving on bald tires and trying to avoid an accident on the highway at 75mph... spun out across 3 lanes of traffic and there wasnt a scratch on me or my car. no one was hurt. i was damn lucky.

On one of my talons, i have a full 3" turboback exhaust and i just changed my oil a couple days ago.

i went to mitsubishi and got the oil filter part number MD031805

it fits my car very well. take into consideration it is a bigger diameter then the stock oil filter, but it is also shorter.
