Anyone running a hydrogen generator in their car? Heard it promotes a cleaner burn as well as increasing gas mileage.

Any set up tips?

I checked this out a few years ago. I spoke with a local company about getting it installed on my V6 Ranger. Simply put, the cost of Hydrogen gas injection far outweighs the benefits. Hydrogen is the most flammable emelent we know of since it bonds to oxygen with a perfect valence shell. This also means it consumes oxygen that is needed to burn the fuel. It also makes for really good bombs. OMG

I'm willing to put money on the idea that a clean air filter, working O2 sensors, and sensible driving would make much more of an impact than Hydrogen injection on gas milage. As for performance, any reasonably priced setup won't yeild much HP at all. In fact you might lose some from the load on the alternator since quite a bit of electricity is needed to perform hydrolysis in mass amounts. Hydrogen is only a sensible idea when it's used as the main/only fuel source in an engine.

The energy required to get the hydrogen out of the water is less than what you will get from burning it. You might get a cleaner burn in one sense as it will make your combustion hotter, and will promote complete combustion for the gas. However, when burning hotter I think you get other pollutants. Its almost always more worthwhile to invest in making your engine and car run top notch.

Use your noggin man, do your research.

That video didn't show a single thing to validate any of the claims, and this is a scam just like the turbonator. Plenty of people claim to get great gas mileage with those too, they are morons.

True was wondering my buddy showed me those videos and I figured if ask. Wasnt going to buy a AS SEEN ON TV or anything was just wondering if anyone had any relative feedback on it. More a conversational topic.

My feeling on this is, if it was this simple & easy than the auto manufacturers would be all over this trying to keep our government with all their regulation off their backs and trying to drive them out of business.
