So im going to look at this GSX tomorrow afternoon so ill let everyone know how it drives, but my question is, is it worth looking at? I talked for a bit with the seller on the phone and it SOUNDS okay to me, but then again, i dont know much about turbod cars. Hes putting in a new alternator and said those pics are old and he fixed it up cosmetic wise since then.

AD: Up for sale is a 1995 eclipse gsx with a fully rebuilt 6 bolt swap done right engine with less than 10k on it, wiseco pistons bored .30 over balance shaft elimination, arp head studs, cometic head gasket, manley titanium springs and retainers also with a freshly rebuilt 14b turbo. Big K&N air filter, turboxs manual boost controller pioneer flip out dvd player, navi etc. Car has a fully rebuilt auto trans with about 100 miles on it the car is fast and has a lot of potential it is in excellent condition I want to get rid of it because I want to get a 240sx willing to trade for a 240 or 3500 obo shoot me an offer anything is considered

Heres the link and some pics:

when you go look for it ask for receipts for the items he claims are in the motor. If he doesnt have them ask for the boxes that the item came in. Basically try and make sure it has what he says it has in the car. Sadly there are alot of people out there who will try and pull a fast one on an unsuspecting buyer. The only reason i say this is because the asking price is so low, if it was me and i really had all that work done to the motor i would be asking more for it.

Hmm that's actually a good point...I'll try txting him
and ask a few more questions about recipts ect...is there anything in particular I should look for wen I go to check it out? Oh he told me the story a out why it has. New auto trans. He said he had to get it towed and they didn't put it on a flatbed, but instead lifted the front wheels and messed up the trans or something so the insurance company bought a brand new trans.

I actually just got ahold of him and he said he has some recipts laying around that he will gather up for me tomorrow. He said if I want he could even put the car on a lift to drop the oil pan just so he can show me everything (pistons ect.) and that i can tell that its a 6 bolt from the cam sensor and sidemount. I really dont think someone would go out of their way that much just to screw me over? Idk it seems pretty solid from what ive heard so far. Im definately gonna check it out tomrrow

If it has wiseco pistons it should have eagle rods or something i dont think you can run those on stock rods and If you put a 20g or a 16g turbo on that you'll have a pretty quick car!!! Also ask what he used to tune it with that will help determine what kind of life its had you dont want a car thats been running on 20psi with stock injectors and untuned especialy with a 14b cause they do more damage than good after like 16psi. If you see the reciepts and the guy isnt a complete idiot about these cars its ligit dont pass it up dude you will regret it later.

Thanks for the replies guys..I have a basic idea of what im looking for now. I just want to be extra careful because this would be my 1st turbod car and i dont know much about them. I know basic bolt on shit and some things about engine internals. I really gotta learn some more about DSMs haha. My n/a gs isnt cutting it.

It is possible to run them on stock 1g rods but you have to get the small end bored out a bit to accept a full floating piston. Most machine shops can do it with ease. Regardless it looks like a good car and if he can prove all that work I think it is a good buy.

That might have been what he said, I forget haha. But yes its an automatic, but thats just what im into hah

look for the bump out in the oil pan...to make sure its a 6-bolt. if it is the yes good deal. for 3k. ### thats a far amount of work and cash to do that swap.

Well considering wiseco does not make a .030 over piston i would say no(Wiseco Pistons for Mitsubishi).. Why in the world would you rebuild a 14b.. there a dime a dozen.. I think you should keep looking.. The price looks good but if he did the 6 bolt swap right he would know what kind of pistons were in it...

Ross and manley i believe make a .030 over piston... He is full of shit from the beginning...

You cant use a floating wrist pin rod with a pressed piston.. But you can use a floating wrist pin piston with a pressed rod...

Well im looking for a cleaner daily driver and this car definitely isnt one..
I went to check it out today and his car was at an auto shop and as i was waiting for him to get there i started checking it out. The inside of the car was like torn apart, the center console was ripped apart, no door panels, flat tires and dents in the rims, the bumper looks like it was stapled onto the body..just wasnt for me, im not looking for a fixer upper.
I just cant seem to find the right dsm for me. I think I might have to go with another Z28 until I get a decent paying job, and maybe graduate high school first LOL

Z28? And you're wanting affordable? That strikes me as counter productive statements. XD

Aside from that bit, you could look for 1g AWD cars. They are getting pretty affordable these days.

I actually found a nice ass Z28 that im looking at this saturday..1992 Z28 350 Tpi with a fresh motor for $3000..great deal

Believe me id MUCH rather get a gst or a gsx but its just been too hard to find a decent one in my price range...looks like im leaving the dsm scene for a while guys </3
trust me ill be back haha..money is just an issue right now, a 17yr old in high school, its pretty tough out there LOL

Well, all else fails, you could snag a 1g AWD to keep up. Stock they can be quite reliable
Here's a few I found that are around 3k.

91 TSi AWD for 3500
1991 Eagle Talon Tsi turbo AWD, dsm, eclipse

Here's a 90 TSI AWD for 2100
90 Eagle Talon TSI AWD Turbo $2100

93 for Auto AWD for 3k
1993 eagle talon tsi

Or you can get some lower and spend the rest on getting the car up to par.
This one needs a bit of work but it's 1200
1990 Eagle talon AWD

There are cars available if you look around. :p But if not, get what makes you happy. You'll be back. They always come back.... *Spooky fingers*

The first one looks clean and you could probly drop that price and you live near dogbox so they could fix the tranny. You cant go wrong with a 1G AWD :D
