Resolved How to tell if EPROM ECU has been socketed?

I've just received my eprom ecu in the mail. When I ordered it. I payed for them to socket it but I can't tell if it has been and I don't want to damage it. What can I do

It's very easy to tell. Either the chip is soldered directly to the board or the chip is inserted into a socket that has been soldered directly to the board. Posting a pic of your ecu will probably help.

I can't figure out how to work this freaking camera! I feel like I've been ripped off...

If there is something other than the green board under the eprom chip pins it is socketed. If all you see is green under the pins on the chip it is not socketed.

Oh okay. There's like a black piece of plastic between the eprom and the board. I feel much better now!! Thanks guys for clearing that up.
Now its time to get this car running on all four cylinders so I can get DsmLink
