How to spot a knock off BOV

Does anyone know how to tell the difference between a real BOV and a knockoff? I know with turbo's there are subtle differences. I"m just wondering what they are as far as the BOV goes.

Markings & internals. Same with turbos.

Knock offs.usually look fake and have poor quality parts.

Check to see if it has greddy cast into it on the side, not just the sticker saying greddy. And check the diaphragm.

Jokes aside, there are usually differences in appearance, markings, and internal parts. But it really depends on what brand/model your questioning. The Greddy Type-S copies are usually very obvious while some version of the HKS SSQV have near perfect replicas, the only differences being internal parts and materials. Usually a quick google search will tell you what to look for on a certain BOV. The best way to avoid knockoffs: Buy the BOV straight from the company or an "authorized dealer".

Thanks there is a guy here selling a black hks ssqv and a vrsf fmic for $250 it looks like its in good shape , but I wasn't sure on how to tell if the bov was a fake or not.
